Here is a typical FHE at the Pugmire house...... we have a song, a prayer, spank the kids, give them a brownie and send them to bed. OK, maybe that's an exaggeration, but not by too much. Getting 6 kids to sit still long enough to learn anything can be a challenge. There's always at least one unplanned comical event included.
This week we had a short but sweet lesson about the Holy Ghost. I was surprised by some of the answers that Porter (6) came up with himself. Brig was excited to participate, so he would always ask me to tell him the answers. Jeff told a story about a funeral he had recently attended for a High School friend. He talked about how he didn't feel the Holy Ghost there, because they didn't talk about Jesus or the Plan of Salvation, and therefore the Holy Ghost wasn't there to testify of the truth. It was a really good lesson and it made me realize that I take the Holy Ghost for granted many times.
When we got done, it was Brig's turn to lead the closing song. We named off many primary songs, but he said "No" to them all. I asked him what song he wanted to sing, and he said "Transformers". Well, you know that when a 3 year old gets something in their mind, it's just easier for go along with them than to fight it. So, in conclusion to our FHE about the Holy Ghost, we all sang "Transformers more than meets the eye....autobots wage a battle to destroy the evil forces of the decepticons!"
